Depression, Anxiety, Stress and low mood

 

When you suffer from depression, anxiety or low mood, it feels like nothing can ever help, and nothing will ever change ... it makes you feel certain that you can never feel happy again. It drains the pleasure from things you used to enjoy, makes you see everything through grey-tinted glasses and eradicates hope and energy.

In short, depression, anxiety, and low mood is a parasite that feeds off your life.

But when you know how these feelings work and what they need to sustain them, then you start to gain power over them and hope is rekindled and reborn.

I have been trained in an approach to tackling depression and anxiety that focuses on getting you feeling better quickly. My approach uses a combination of life coaching and Clinical Hypnotherapy and is

  • Time-limited (you will not be coming to see me for months and months on end with no end in sight);

  • Present and future-oriented, finding solutions to immediate issues, rather than focussing on symptoms and what went wrong in the past;

  • Focussed on helping you to learn new skills. 

 

The first things we will do in our first session together are

  • Ensure you understand why you are feeling this way. It has a lot to do with the levels of stress you are currently experiencing, which affects sleep quality leading to physical and mental exhaustion; and

  • I will help you to quickly feel better by teaching you how to deeply relax. This is to prepare your brain to learn because as you’ve probably noticed, depression and anxiety make it almost impossible to pay attention and retain information.

When you leave after that first session, I would expect you to feel better than you have in a long time. But of course, depression and anxiety don’t shift overnight.

In the following sessions, we will work together to:

  • Help you balance your thinking so you are not plagued by negative thoughts, worry, and introspection;

  • Resolve any practical problems that are causing you stress

  • Work on any relationship difficulties you may be having

  • Look at how you are meeting your basic emotional needs, and, as you feel better, gradually introduce elements to your life that will protect you from becoming depressed or anxious again; and above all else ...

  • Get you feeling good about yourself and life in general.

 

Depression and anxiety can make you feel hopeless. But there is hope, and I think I can help.

The 'No Diets... No Eating Plans... No Excuses Weight Loss Course' involves five sessions spread over a two month period.

 

The Hypnotherapy  parts of the course will change the way you think about your food and lifestyle - hypnotherapy will help you to

 

  • become motivated and fired up about losing weight and motivated to follow a different, healthier lifestyle and so become the person you want to be;

                                                                            

  • become more averse to relying on the sort of foods that contribute to weight gain (although, please note, on this programme you will still be allowed to eat them .... sometimes!);

 

  • increase your self-esteem and confidence and manage your emotions so that you come to rely less on food as a source of comfort.

The individual Coaching parts of the course

 

  • does involve individual coaching - which means when we are working together it is just you and me, not you, me and a large group of other people. This means that the coaching can be tailored to your specific needs;

 

  • will give you practical advice about how to eat sensibly - BUT PLEASE NOTE, the programme

      DOES NOT  rely on DIETS OR COMPLICATED EATING PLANS. You will be eating 'normal food',

      including food that you might have previously thought off-limits/banned;

 

  • includes daily contact with me via e-mail or text message, or for emergencies, via Skype. This is to ensure your motivation and support is maintained between sessions.
