Procedures for visiting Steve Scott Therapy during the current Covid19 Pandemic

Apologies if the following sounds overly dogmatic - I promise the session itself will be very relaxed and friendly, despite everything else that is going on!!

Due to the ongoing Covid 19 Pandemic, and having conducted a risk assessment as required by my insurance company,  I have revised normal procedures for seeing clients. This is to ensure the safety of all concerned. The actual session and what we do when you are here will not be greatly affected, but other procedures and practices when a client visits have been changed to reflect current Government guidance.

Please read the following points:-

1 Before our session

  • Please DO NOT attend if you or anyone in your social bubble is exhibiting the symptoms of coronavirus (COVID 19) or has exhibited these symptoms in the past 14 days.  The main symptoms of coronavirus (COVID-19) are:

  • a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)

  • a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)

  • a loss or change to your sense of smell or taste – this means you've noticed you cannot smell or taste anything, or things smell or taste different to normal.

  • In turn, if these symptoms apply to me or anyone in my social bubble I will inform you and rearrange our appointment.

  • Cash payments for sessions have been suspended to avoid handling of money. Please pay for the session by making a direct transfer.

2 When you arrive and during the session

  • Please park outside the house in James Lane and not on the driveway on The Mearings side of the house - this is so you can enter the premises via the front James Lane gate and double doors and walk straight into the room where the session will take place.

  • Hand sanitizer will be available by the doors for your use before entering the room.

  • Normally water etc would be provided but in these circumstances I would ask you to bring your own if you think this necessary.

  • We will adhere to social distancing rules with at least a 2m gap between us at all times. Windows will be open to ensure adequate ventilation in the room where we are working. We will be sitting at an angle, rather than face to face.

  • Toilet facilities, should you need them, are still available. The bathroom is cleaned/sanitized and towels etc changed after each session.

  • To avoid handling of papers I may e-mail you handouts or information that normally I would give you during the session. Please bring your copies with you as well as your own pen for any notes you may wish to make.

3 After the session

  • If, within 14 days of our last meeting, you or anyone in your social bubble exhibits the symptoms of Covid 19 please inform me as soon as possible so that I can take the appropriate action in relation to other clients.

  • Again, I will inform you if the same applies to me.

IF ON REFLECTION you are not satisfied with these arrangements and would prefer to cancel or postpone your appointment I quite understand and would simply ask that you inform me of your decision, ideally giving me at least 24 hours notice.

If you have any queries about your visit, please contact me.
